It has become clear that despite the highly restrictive
environment created by the spread of COVID-19, the prospects
and potential for the ongoing development of cultural
activities has not diminished.
By focusing on new media and the virtual world, cultural
activities have served to stimulate interaction, boost
morale, enhance positivity and ease the negative impacts of
self-isolation.
In facing Coronavirus, the UAE has demonstrated its
commitment to sustaining cultural initiatives through
targeted support, efficient institutions, a thriving
cultural–creative sector and exceptional digital
infrastructure.
The expansion in the use of digital technologies to nurture
cultural activities has served to extend their reach,
especially among tech-savvy millennials.
